The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently viewing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it's alarmed regarding the high amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access sassa SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area every day. The provider issue produced for intervention activities a significant influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to permit the servicing of all prospects and improve entry to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
